Local products of Nam Giang district are available in MUJI’s flagship store in Vietnam

On November 27, MUJI, the renowned Japanese home and lifestyle goods company opened its first store in Vietnam at a big shopping center in Hochiminh City. About 1,200 local products including Cotu traditional handicrafts and agriculture products which were developed by ethnic minority people in Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province of Vietnam are now available in one corner of the store. The grand open of MUJI’s store and products of Nam Giang district were also introduced in local media.

Japanese companies in general are famous for their high requirements of product quality. The products need to pass many steps of inspection from production to sales and acquisition of certification. Having products which are sold at one of the big Japanese companies and met its strict quality standards is very meaningful for ethnic minority people in Nam Giang district, and gives them a lot of confident. This new market is expected to contribute to improving the income of ethnic minority people and the self-sustaining development of the rural area.
