Cambodia experienced severe conflict for
twenty years, especially under the Pol Pot
regime from 1975 through 1979, which left
the country in chaos. The negative influence
of that era remains strong in the fields
of medical care and education.
In 1993, FIDR donated pharmaceutical products
to the National Pediatric Hospital in Phnom
Penh, marking the start of FIDR's projects
in Cambodia. The Cambodia office was established
in Phnom Penh in 1996. Since then, FIDR has
been conducting projects in various fields
including medical and health care, education,
and agriculture.
